Consider this hotel on Sarang Street,  just over the road from the market building, which offers low cost accommodation as well as a clean traditional restaurant serving Udupi cuisine which is all vegetarian.

As the market is so close to the main Mumbai Railway station there are plenty of other hotels around, though they are all quite basic ones many are clean and reasonable for the traveler.
